Lifestyles
Continuing care means that a continuum of lifestyles from independent living to skilled nursing combined with an electronic alert system are provided in one community, on one campus. Quality Quality is improved and maintained by communities that are accredited by the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission, which conducts surveys of each community on a regular basis. Only ten percent of continuing care communities are accredited, and Heron Point is among that ten percent. Continuing care Continuing care as provided by Heron Point and other similar communities results in a higher monthly fee, which is similar to long-term care insurance but broader in scope. As a result, each year a major portion of our monthly fee is deductible from the Federal Income Tax. One factor of continuing care, difficult to measure but nonetheless a major benefit is the comfort, peace, and well-being that comes with the realization that friends, both staff and residents and even townsfolk that we have come to know, will continue to be with us as we move through the continuum. We were wise to choose a CCRC. |
