Accommodations
We residents live in 91 cottages and 101 apartments. In addition, for our residents, there are 45 assisted living accommodations and 38 health care licensed beds. We are a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) on a 66-acre riverside campus. Our community Heron Point is located in a delightful, small, historic college town. Some of us walk or bike to town and to the college. We are situated on the Chester River, a tributary to the Chesapeake Bay, which offers us a great range of activities. Health and wellness Our devoted staff is committed to keeping us going in good physical shape. When long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation services are needed, they are provided right here in our health center with our friends remaining nearby. Our home A group of us were returning from a Sunday afternoon Baltimore Symphony concert and, as we crossed the bridge into Chestertown, someone in the back of the bus said in an obviously pleased voice, "Home again!" This is a high compliment to any retirement community. Heron Point is a place to enjoy living; our style is casual, active, and gregarious. Heron Point is an accredited community and a non-profit Maryland Corporation managed by Peninsula United Methodist Homes which also manages (with more than 50 years' experience) three communities in Delaware.
